Zeus Summary

Zeus, the Greek God of lightning, is known for ruling the skies with his righteous thunderbolt. Born in a cave on Mount Ida on the island of Crete, Zeus was the son of Kronos and Rhea. Kronos was afraid of being overthrown by one of his own children so whenever Rhea gave birth, Kronos would eat the child. Zeus was spared when Rhea gave Kronos a rock to devour instead of the child Zeus, who later defeated Kronos and freed his brothers and sisters from Kronos’ belly. When Zeus got older he married Hera and had many children including Hercules. Zeus often fought with his wife and came down to earth in a variety of forms to seduce other women.
